"Birth" wins the most rotten tomato award

The first Poll on this Blog, asking you to vote for Nicole's most rotten movie, has closed. It seems most visitors to the Blog did not like "Birth" at all. This very weird film got the most votes, followed by "Bewitched" in second place and "The Invasion" in third place. Surprisingly, movies like "The Stepford Wives" and "The Golden Compass" didn't bother you as much as these Top 3. Thanks for voting! Tennyson Crowe + Sundae Urban

Did you hear that Russell Crowe recently met Sunday Rose and thought she might be a great future daughter in law for his second son, Tennyson. Of course Russell was just having some fun. I mean, can you imagine merging those two genes? Oh dear. However, Nicole thought he was serious. Nicole responded by saying that she always approved of arranged marriages. I damn sure she does, considering she has been in one herself.

Guess who has a twin! Keith!

I thought this was quite amusing when I stumbled across a webpage showing how much Keith and Billy Ray Cyrus look alike. In a way I agree, except Keith is a tad cuter. Still, they could be brothers especially with their matching hair highlights. Don't you agree? Don't break my heart, my achey breaky heart ...

Pretty in Pink in London

Nicole is enjoying living temporarily in London it seems while work on the movie "Nine" continues. Nicole braved the cool London autumn to show us a little more of Sunday (top left) in a sweet pink outfit, but forgot to get a scarf and black cap for the poor little angel. Nicole obviously wasn't trying to avoid the Paparazzi because everyone knows her well worn disguise now. The black tops, the black pants, and the black cap! She doesn't always wear the diguise though - she was spotted heading off to work the other morning (top right). By the looks of it, she wished she had worn the cap! And I couldn't resist throwing in a lovely blast from the past of Nicole on Bondi Beach in 2001 with her other children Bella and Connor, and her niece.

Another magazine, another tree down

There is one magazine in this world which will include an article on Nicole at any opportunity, they simply love her. It's the "Australian Women's Weekly" who are this year celebrating their 75th birthday. With the upcoming release of "Australia - the Movie" the latest edition of this magazine, released today, has gone for a touching cover shoot of Nic and Hugh. Sales from each copy sold will go to the Nicole Kidman Retirement Fund. Just kidding!

Meet the Kidmans

About time this blog mentioned the Kidman family. If there is one nice thing you can say about Nicole is what a great family she has. Her parents are lovely, they stay miles away from Nicole and they don't complain about it. And then there is younger sister Antonia who is a real sweetie. Despite a breakup with longtime husband Angus, she never tried to get attention in the media from it. She has brought up her children well away from the media. In fact the only real connection she has with media is her TV show on Foxtel. Big sister could probably learn some tips from Antonia on how to live a normal life and not seek attention at every corner. I guess you could say Nicole comes from a solid family background. Remember though, she was always a bit rebellious.

Nicole Kidman Admits That She Is Very Emotional

Actress Nicole Kidman - who has two months daughter Sunday Rose with her musician husband Keith Urban - is easily upset and difficult to hide her feelings, if she gets angry.

Nicole Kidman said: "I would describe myself as highly emotional and nervous. If something bothers me, it bothers me. If something makes me angry, I am really angry.

"But it is quite frankly. I can not hide. I am faithful and I hope I'm fun."

The 41-year actress, who has two adopted children, Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13 with ex-husband Tom Cruise, also opened on the birth of Sunday, saying she feels "blessed".

Nicole Kidman said: "To have the blessing of a child at this stage of my life was wonderful. My parents suggested the name Sunday. His middle name is a tribute to the late Keith grandmother. "

Nicole Kidman is now devoting more time to his family, and will only new projects in its new philosophy.

She added in an interview with Britain's The Sun newspaper: "If the project you do succeeds or fails, it does not matter - you have your loved one. Now I have a very comprehensive rich life that extends far beyond the film industry.

"I think it comes with the decisions you have made on the level of success that you want and what is important in your life. The work was based on logistics and dynamics of my family. "

MORE of Sunday Rose is revealed!

Not sure if Nicole was expecting the Paps this time, but yesterday in London she was spotted carrying baby Sunday Rose (above left). OK, so it's the back of the little darling, but with each week more is being revealed. By Christmas, we may get to see her face. I am sure this is all part of Nicole's plan. Sunday Rose's older sister, Isabella (top right, with Mum and Stepdad) will be able to pass on all her clothes and tips for surviving in a celebrity household. Auntie Antonia (bottom right) will be able to provide heaps of advice to Mum because she has had four kids of her own. Antonia also has a successful TV show in Australia called "From Here to Maternity".

Nicole and Keith: a match made in heaven?

When Nicole and Keith married in June 2006, many people thought it would last five minutes. Over two years later, the Aussie couple are still together. Do you think they look right together? Or is it a bit of chalk and cheese? Remember, opposites do attract. I find Keith incredibly sexy and probably the cutest to date, even if people refer to him as short or an Oompa Loompa. Style Icon

Nicole is often referred to as a Style Icon, with a particular love for black clothes, vests, and now men's shoes. This photo (taken in London the other day), shows that Nicole doesn't need the wardrobe assistants to help her maintain that Style Icon title. Clearly, she can take care of that all by herself.

Botox hinders a performance

Botox is a good friend of Nicole's, but it can also be used for other things, like stopping excessive sweating under the arms. Long term use of the rat poison is unknown but one thing is known: more directors are banning it from their movie sets because it removes facial expressions! When a director needs a botox-whored actor to look traumatised, they can't! It can hold movie sets up for a long time while directors wait for botox to wear off the actor's faces. A good example of an actor not using Botox is Nicole's friend Naomi. In her latest film showing here in Australia "Funny Games", Naomi is able to do all the required facial expressions of a wife and mother being held captive by some unwelcome guests.

Nicole Kidman Will Be Hunter

Australian actress Nicole Kidman is to set off on a huge treasure hunt in her next film The Eighth Wonder, The Hollywood Reporter newspaper says.

The film, which appears to be in the Indiana Jones mould, will follow the adventures of an archaeologist as a major discovery triggers a global treasure hunt, the newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Oscar-winning Nicole Kidman, 41, was recently toppled as the world's highest paid actress, losing her place to Reese Witherspoon and Angelina Jolie.

Married to Australian country music star Keith Urban, Kidman gave birth to a girl, named Sunday Rose, in July.

"An absolute reality ... an absolute possibility".

The UK Independent poses the following question today "Down under - the movie: Can Baz, Nicole and Hugh persuade us to go to Australia?". As you may be aware from an earlier Blog entry, the film "Australia" will be used to promote Australia as a tourist destination, since our visitor arrivals have continued to dwindle since the 2000 Olympics. Baz has also been commissioned to film a number of advertisements to promote the country which will shown across the world in the lead-up to the film's release. The article also mentions Nicole's 'mostoverpaid actor status' which may stop people from going to see the movie. The article also points out that Baz is aware that the film could flop. In his words, "an absolute reality ... an absolute possibility". Each cinema ticket comes with a free Botox injection.

When the crow flies

Back in early 2005, long time pals Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe were all set to star in "Eucalyptus", an Australian film based on the bestselling novel. However, in the first week of rehearsals, Russell decided he wanted full script approval and the director said NO. So Russell walked. Nicole was left stranded with no film, and there was no Keith then to console her. It's probably a good thing, because in the book, the female character was just 18 years old. Nicole was of course about 38 years old at the time. Anyway, Russell was also meant to be in "Australia" but apparently wanted script approval again. Baz quickly replaced him with Hugh Jackman. While it might appear that that these two pals are not destined to work together, there are still murmurs about a future project together. As you may be aware, Russell's entry in the top 10 overpaid actors has improved since last year after the successful "American Gangster"so Nicole may see him as a good investment for one of her projects. House of Wax Honour

You really know you're something when they want to make a wax work of you. I myself am eagerly awaiting my turn. This Blog cannot go by without mentioning the Nicole Kidman waxwork recently added to the Madam Tussaud's collection. I must get over to London to check out this wax work and get my photo taken next to it. I believe that Madam Tussauds are doing a roaring trade now. I also understand that people cannot tell the difference between the waxwork and the real thing because of the smooth, porcelain like skin. There is one big difference. One uses botox, the other doesn't.

What a windrider! Nicole goes full circle in 22 years

Nicole started in an Aussie film, and twenty two years later is back in an Aussie film. The first real movie for Nicole was 1986's "Windrider" starring then boyfriend Tom Burlinson. "Windrider" was so bad it was good, if you know what I mean. Some might say Nicole's career started with an Aussie film and will end with an Aussie film, based on poor test screenings for "Australia". You might wonder why I didn't put Windrider in the Poll on the right of this blog. Well , it is sort of a guilty pleasure, and Tom Burlinson was a hot babe in it. Even Nicole, with her clown red hair, was considered a 'star in the making'. This film remains unavailable on DVD, and I don't know why (maybe Nicole has rights to it).

'Mini Me' is slowly being revealed

After 9 months of flaunting the baby bump across the world media, Nicole then decided not to show anybody what the baby looked like. Slowly, more of 'Mini Me' is being revealed, like this shot taken over the weekend in London. This shot gives a much closer look at her hair colour. More red than Nicole's.

"Australia" marketing heats up

As you may know, "Australia" is due for release in late November 2008. This is the film that Nicole and Baz Luhrmann discussed making for some seven years. The posters are starting to appear across the world (see top shot) and my first impression from seeing Nicole in the safari suit in this one was that it looked like a remake of "Born Free". I admit, I will go and see the movie just so I can see if Baz can continue the success he enjoyed with "Strictly Ballroom", "Romeo and Juliet", and "Moulin Rouge". It remains to be seen though if photos like the second shot of Nicole and Baz smiling will surface again. Or will we see angry shots of the two because the cinemas are half full? Based on the trailers seen so far, who knows. The Australian film industry needs a solid hit, and so does someone else.

Congratulations Nicole!

It's sort of hard not to feel sorry for Nicole Kidman. Every other week she is being knocked or labelled for something or the other. Awhile ago, you may recall Russell Crowe and herself were listed as stars among the most overpaid. At that time Nicole's films only returned $8 for every dollar she was paid. Things have gotten worse! A survey released by US magazine Forbes has just given her the new title of "Hollywood's most overpaid actor". Nicole's films now only return $1 for every dollar she is paid. The film most accredited for this new "honour" is The Invasion (scene from this film above) which lost $US2.68 for every dollar she earned. Nicole was paid $US17 million to star in The Invasion. Have you seen the film? It starts off OK but quickly turns pear-shaped. Nicole probably doesn't care because she still has the $17 million in her bank account and can disappear to a deserted island until the dust settles. I personally would do this, then return when everyone's almost forgotten the dud films, then make an amazing comeback. Anyway, congratulations Nicole for winning this latest award.

Nicole and Keith unite in England last night

Nicole attended the National Movie Awards in London last night with husband Keith by her side. As you can see by the photo, she has lost even more weight and now resembles skeletor's horse even more. Surprisingly, Nicole opted to avoid the red carpet but did present an award on stage to Meryl Streep (Best Actress for Mama Mia). Keith would know the reason why she avoided the red carpet. And we may know too. Was it because she didn't want people to see the latest Botox work? Or was it because she hasn't had a good film of late, and the red carpet is reserved for winners only? Too many choices.

Nicole Kidman In Her Mini Black Dress

Actress Nicole Kidman looked back to his more glamorous lead Hollywood's A-list at the National Film Awards.

Dressed in thigh-grazing minidress, the actress makes sure that all eyes were on her as she came to the awards ceremony.

Avoiding his usual floor-length glamour for a black fitted with a change of jewel-encrusted neckline, actress cosied up to her husband, singer Keith Urban as they posed for pictures at the event.

Nicole Kidman, 41, made his first official appearance since the birth of her daughter Sunday Rose in July.

Miss Kidman has spent the last three weeks in London with her husband Keith Urban and her daughter.

The Oscar-winning actress has opted not to go down the red carpet in front of the fans, but takes place on stage to present the award for best music was hit Mamma Mia.

Nicole Kidman and her husband drive stars as Harry Potter star Emma Watson, Sex and the City star Chris North, actor Mario Bello and action star Samuel L Jackson, for an evening of high glamor.

Britt Ekland criticises Nicole

The UK Daily Mail recently ran a story about Britt Ekland, a once beautiful Swedish blonde actress. As you can see from the top picture, Britt had some plastic surgery done not long ago which has seen her end up with the dreaded trout pout. Anyway, Britt accused Nicole of using botox in the film "Cold Mountain". From the second photo, which is from that movie, can you understand what Britt is referring to? As Britt states "Of course, it's fatal when actresses use Botox. I remember seeing Cold Mountain and it really looked to me like Nicole Kidman had been using it. Her face was neither sad nor glad - nor anything. She was just like a painted doll. I thought, 'Why would she do that?". Spot on Britt!

Keith Urban Is Mr. Mom

Gluteos law is not sweat hands on the new-father Keith Urban, the singer tells CMT Insider. In fact, he says, he relishes his role full-time dad to 2 months while Rose Sunday wife, Nicole Kidman, is the shooting.

"When my wife and I have free time, I'm Mr. Mom during the day, taking care of the girl child," said Urban, 40, which also called fatherhood " beautiful. "

The Kidman-Urban family spent time in Australia while Nicole Kidman, 40, filmed the Baz Luhrmann epic Australia, and now mother and daughter are in London, where Kidman repeat for the film musical Nine. Meanwhile, in urban areas was the balance time with family travel dates for his U.S. tour. Next year, he says, things will be different.

The question of whether they intend to take Rose Sunday on the road in the future, he replied: "That is what we will do next year. Suffice it to travel with balancing being home, it is good to have them on the road that we ... " new step outside a lot. "

In my opinion, her nickname should really be "no nickers" based on this photo. For international readers, in Australia we call underwear "nickers" . This photo is of course a still from "Eyes Shut Wide" or was it "Eyes Wide Shut". Now that's a movie that deserves to be in the Poll on this blog. How did I forget that one?

When Nicole met the Jolie-Pitts

I'll never forgot the day when Nicole met Angelina and Brad. I wondered what they were talking about. Perhaps a joint movie venture? Perhaps discussion over charity ventures? Or adopting children perhaps? Well, I think the top photo is pretty certain. Botox admiration society. Yes folks, Nicole is not the only one to indulge, it would appear. Go Angie, go!

The day Keith met Nicole

This is a great photo of the day Keith met Nicole at the annual G'Day LA event in 2004. It wasn't Olivia Newton John (far right) who introduced them, but Alexander Downer. Apparently Keith took Nicole's number but didn't call her for some six months later. Probably not love at first sight then. I have to say Keith looks pretty hot in this picture - I love the beard.

When the hair won't come to the party

Nicole was famous in the early days for her hair. It's not what it once was according to these photos which were taken at undesirable moments. Thankfully she can now rely on hairpieces to get her through most public appearances and movies.

Daughter No.1 grows up

Only seems like yesterday when Isabella Kidman Holmes (!) Cruise was a little toddler in Mum's arms. Now she is a teenager! Do you think Isabella will pursue an acting career like her paretns?

Changing Face

Nicole has been criticised over the years for using botox, having plastic surgery and pumping up her lips. Alot of Hollywood stars do it, so why does Nicole receive so much attention for doing it? Well because she denies it and that's what annoys people. Better to say nothing. The pictures give it all away anyway. No-one really minds if someone alters their face, it's their choice but in the case of Nicole alot of people are asking why? There was really nothing wrong with her face in the first place. Naomi and Nicole's new movie

Due to begin filming in 2009, best friends Nicole and Naomi will star in the film "Need". This is not the first time the two Aussies will be working together. In 1991, they both appeared in "Flirting". "Need" is about a psychriatist (Watts) who discovers that one of her patients (Kidman) is having an affair with her husband. Sounds juicy. Moreover, any film Naomi touches seems to turn out good, so that has to be a positive for Nicole.

Will 'Australia' succeed?

The Australian Government is banking on it to boost tourism, but will the epic film "Australia" be the hit that everyone is hoping? The teaser trailer released some months ago gave very little away except to make us scratch our heads and go "WTF". Reshoots were completed recently, but that is never a sure sign of a flop as nearly all flms these days require reshoots before final editing wraps up. My feeling is that the film will do fairly well, but not great. With Nicole's list of flops in recent years, it might have to be up to Hugh to save the day. On top of that, other blockbusters will be released around the same time. It remains to be seen if the audience will buy a porcelain faced lady in the harsh outback in the days when botox did not exist.
